A message from Fr. Bidwell
The St. William Memorial List is a list of deceased persons from our parish who are remembered on the anniversary of their death. The Memorial List, not to be confused with the daily Mass Intention, started as a courtesy to our parishioners over 20 years ago. The list has naturally grown considerably over the years and many of the original people making the request on behalf of their loved one are no longer members of the parish. In order to revive the integrity of the Memorial List, we are excited to announce it is now time to start anew! Beginning in 2021, we will publish a fresh Memorial List each year.
If you wish to participate and have someone included in the list please read the following:
The names on the current Memorial List will remain through the end of this year, 2020.
Due to COVID-19 our bulletin publisher has had to severely reduce our pages limiting our space to directly print the list in the bulletin, therefore, starting this June, the individual names and dates will be published in an insert to the bulletin and will be on the parish website for reference.
Starting immediately we will begin taking names for the 2021 list from parishioners who contact the parish office - you may include people currently on the list or someone new that you wish to add. (see details below)
Beginning in January, the deceased will be remembered collectively in the universal prayers at one Mass during the proper month: Ex: “For the departed members of our parish we remember this month.” (Names will be inserted into the bulletin.)
Going forward, the Memorial List will be renewed every year in this same manner. This renewal is necessary for practical reasons. For those who wish to make a donation for the memorial list, please make your check payable to St. William Church.
You are also welcome to have your loved one added to the “In Loving Memory” list on the back of the monthly bulletin. There is a fee that helps offset the cost of the bulletin. To do this, please contact Jim Mazza at Diocesan. Jim can be reached at 513-748-3007 or email him at jmazza@diocesan.com.
To request a name be added or kept on the 2021 Memorial List, please contact the parish office by phone, email at info@saintwilliam.com, or by mail to 4125 St. William Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45205.
Please include the following important information:
Name of the person(s) you want to be remembered.
The anniversary date of their death.
Your name and contact information.
Any freewill donation amount you wish to contribute (optional).
A form has also been provided here to print.
Thank you for your cooperation, patience, and understanding for this needed change. If you have any questions about adding your loved one to the list, feel free to call the parish office at 513-921-0247.
