Phishing is a type of fraud in which a hacker attempts to gather personal information or money by impersonating a legitimate and known person (like Fr. Bidwell). Hackers try to obtain any information that could help them pose as someone else, usually to steal money. Recently, parishes in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati have seen an increase in phishing emails and text messages sent to staff members and parishioners from hackers posing as their pastor. Please check the sender's email address in any email you receive from someone posing as a member of the St. Teresa or St. William staff or clergy. All of the parish email addresses end in @stteresa-avila.org or @saintwilliam.com and, a staff or clergy member would never email or text you asking for a “favor” to purchase gift cards or wire money to them because of an emergency. If you are concerned that you have been emailed in a phishing attempt, please take these simple steps: 1. Do not respond to the sender 2. Forward the message to [email protected] or [email protected] so that a communications team member can check the validity of the message.
We invite you to download our parish app. Text APP to 88202 to receive the download link or go to your phone's app store and search for "My Parish". Be sure to "favorite" St. William to receive our messages and stay in touch.
Come to Fr. Reardon Hall at 7 pm on Tuesday, March 9th, and Tuesday, March 16th to see Bishop Robert Barron's "The Mass" DVD series. Walk through the Liturgy with Bishop Barron and be transformed through insights on this most privileged and intimate encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ. See how the Mass brings us out of the fallen world and into the heavenly realm, how it resonates with a call from God and a response from his people, the Church, and, most importantly, how we are intimately joined with the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus through the Holy Eucharist. The Mass will help you understand how to fully, consciously, and actively participate in the source and summit of the Christian life.
Confessions will be heard on Saturdays at 2:15 prior to the 3:00 p.m. Mass. Confessions will be held in the confessional behind the screen. We ask the penitent to remain standing and wear a mask. There will be a full barrier between the priest and the penitent for everyone's protection. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
After consultation with the governor and health officials, the Bishops of Ohio are convinced of the need to take the following necessary action: • Temporary suspension of all public Masses through May 3 in the state of Ohio. • During the suspension, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati will broadcast a private (close-door) Mass each day from the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains. These Masses will be live-streamed online (catholicccincinnati.org) as well here on the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Facebook page. • Daily Masses will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Mon.-Sat. and Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
We encourage you to participate in Mass through the following outlets: Watching online from the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains on Saturday at 4:30 and Sunday at 8:30, 11:00 and 6:00 p.m., available on the St. Peter in Chains website, https://www.stpeterinchainscathedral.org/ or https://www.ewtn.com/ Listen to Sacred Heart Radio, WNOP 740 AM and 89.5 FM, broadcasts Catholic radio programming around the clock every day.
